"Orange You Sweet" is an Environmental Justice "7-in-1 Aromatherapy" Candle - 14 oz
About Our Candles
Our candles are unique in nature and they have a physiological response enhancement "proprietary" blend formula - Each candle is "specially" handmade with love, and lots of positive energy. The Founder|CEO uses nothing but quality, plant-based (vegan) ingredients with natural "therapeutic" essential oil fragrances to create "Environmentally Justice" Aromatherapy Candles that not only bring balance to the mind, body & spirit, but, they also release "negative ions" into the air, which helps to purify the air.
To create a "luxurious" blend with quality ingredients that are "environmentally" just, I choose to incorporate Candelilla Wax – pronounced can-deh-LEE-ya – a “vegetable” wax that is obtained from the Euphorbia cerifera botanical, better known as the small, wild Candelilla shrub. Its name, which means “little candle,” is a tribute to its history of being first used in candle making. It may also be a reference to the upright growth of the plant’s stems, which resemble pencils or, more fittingly, candles – even more so because of their waxy outer layer; in nature, Candelilla wax forms the thick coating of its source plant’s leaves and stems and functions as the plant’s defense mechanism against the severe weather conditions of the desert. As a water-proofing agent, it protects the plant against heat and dryness, thereby preventing moisture loss.
The plant-based source of this wax makes it ideal for formulating vegan products. Its texturizing property as well as its ability to create barriers between the skin and harsh environmental stressors makes it a valuable ingredient in products such as lip balms. Its protective and softening qualities also make it a popular additive in moisturizers.
Based on a growing body of evidence, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine called for an immediate ban on all hexane derived GMO soy products.
An investigative report by Cornucopia and Natural News has revealed that soy products touted as "organic" may not be 100% "natural." It turns out that soy products are bathed in hexane, a gasoline by-product that is particularly volatile. Hexane based solvents are used to "bathe" soy products during processing. The Cornucopia Institute's report called Behind the bean, reveals higher than expected levels of hexane contamination in "natural" brand name soy products. The Cornucopia report exposes the "dirty little secret" of the "natural" soy foods industry: the widespread use of hexane in processing.
Hexane is a byproduct of gasoline refining. It is a neurotoxin and a hazardous air pollutant. Soybean processors use it as a solvent—a cheap and efficient way of extracting oil from soybeans, a necessary step to making most conventional soy oil and protein ingredients. Whole soybeans are literally bathed in hexane to separate the soybeans’ oil from protein.
Negative Ions
These charged molecules are created when air molecules break apart because of sunlight, radiation, or the movement of air and water. The number of negative ions in an environment can vary greatly depending on the environment. For example, Yosemite Falls has approximately 100,000 negative ions per cubic centimeter as opposed to anywhere from a hundred to none in the average office or home.
Positive in a variety of ways:
Negative ions relieve stress, boost energy and alertness levels, reduce the amount of dust mites and dander in the air, and they may help protect against airborne germs by attaching to positively charged ions that are holding other contaminants airborne.
How do negative ions work?
It is unknown exactly why negative ions affect the body in such a positive manner. Theories about how they work include:
- They cause a biochemical reaction that increases serotonin levels
- They increase the flow of oxygen to the brain
- They stimulate the pituitary gland, which regulates the endocrine glands including the adrenal and thyroid glands
The limbic system is a system of nerves and networks in the brain that controls basic emotions and drives. It is the emotional brain. It supports five major functions: emotions, behavior, motivation, long-term memory, and sense of smell.
Essential oils can be used to tap directly into the limbic system to stimulate memories and emotions. As you inhale essential oils, the tiny molecules enter the nasal cavity and pass by the olfactory bulb. Your olfactory bulb is a part of your limbic system and therefore your response to an aroma is going to be emotional before it can be rational.
This is great news! That means you can use essential oils to recall memories, both good and bad. If they are bad, you can use the oils to help you release cellular memories stored in the body, allowing you to process and move past them.
We all regularly come in contact with reactions to smells. You walk into the house at dinner time and smell your favorite meal being prepared. Your emotions are instantly triggered to the fond memories you have of that meal and you feel joy.
